Paula DuPre’ Pesmen, Executive Director
Since 1990, Paula DuPre’ Pesmen had a successful feature film career where she worked as an Associate Producer on many films including the first three Harry Potter films, Mrs. Doubtfire, Nine Months, Stepmom and Rent. In 2005, Paula took a sabbatical from her feature film career to found the Colorado based non-profit There With Care and also began working with friend and director, Louie Psihoyos, as a Producer on the 2010 Academy Award winning documentary film The Cove.
During her time on the first three Potter films, Paula was inspired by more than 65 families of critically ill children through a program she started with film director Chris Columbus welcoming them to the Potter sets for their wish-for-a-day. Paula also learned firsthand what it meant to be in a family facing medical crisis when her husband, Curt, was diagnosed with and treated for advanced colon cancer. As Executive Director of There With Care, Paula oversees the daily operations of the organization. The overwhelming support Paula has received from her personal and professional communities is a testament to her passion for helping families in need.
Dana Bacardi, Development Director
Dana has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a minor in Communications from Bentley College in Boston. Prior to joining the There With Care team in September of 2008, Dana owned and operated local wireless cell phone stores for 15 years with her husband and served both personal and corporate retail clients in Boulder and Denver. Since There With Care’s inception in 2005, Dana has volunteered directly with families, at fundraising events, and at the Presbyterian/St. Luke’s NICU soup station. She has inspired many community members and close friends and businesses to become involved in There With Care and has made a significant impact on the organization both as a volunteer and now as an employee with the primary responsibilities of community and corporate relations, fundraising, donor relations and event and program sponsorships. Dana is highly organized and dedicated with strong work ethic and true passion for the organization’s mission. Dana is a daily gift to There With Care.
Amy Carpenter, National Expansion Director
Prior to taking the role of National Chapter Director, Amy contributed to There With Care as a volunteer for over 2 years. During that time she helped define and implement operational processes to support There With Care’s growth helping to make the best use of resources to benefit the families.
Amy’s deep belief in There With Care’s mission, values and operations provides the knowledge to replicate the success of the Boulder chapter. With the experience that Amy brings, the organization will soon be expanding to major cities around the country and each chapter will be supported by her with the knowledge of daily operations and long-term vision.
Before moving to Boulder, Amy lived in the Netherlands with her family for three years. Prior to that she worked at Visa as an instructional designer focusing on technical training and performance management systems.
Amy has a master’s degree in Information and Learning Technologies from the University of Colorado, Denver and undergraduate degrees in Political Science and English from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Mary Beth Appel, Program Coordinator
Mary Beth job shares the position of the Program Coordinator and works four days per week supporting the families served at There With Care. Mary Beth has been a long-time volunteer with the organization where she supervised the Soup Station at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center for several years. She has volunteered coordinating the Harmony Pre-School Annual Yard Sale, Scholastic Book Fair and Crest View Elementary School Events. She was a Real Estate Broker and prior to that worked as a Special Claims Representative with Farmers Insurance Company.
Mary Beth’s warm and caring nature is felt by families and volunteers at There With Care. Her good instincts and attention to detail have enhanced the programs department at the organization.
Adrienne Ambraziunas, Program Coordinator
Adrienne job shares the position of the Program Coordinator and works four days per week. Adrienne’s previous experience was working as a Psychotherapist providing counseling and hypnotherapy to individual clients for issues relating to anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions and pain management.
Adrienne is gentle and caring and came to the position with those traits to help others. She also is a cancer survivor and through her personal experience can understand some of what the patients are going through to better support them.
Kim Richter, Program Coordinator
Kim inspires those around her in her role at There With Care as one of the Program Coordinators. Prior to her position, she volunteered at the organization for several years with the Holiday Program and for various fundraising events. Inspired by her work with families during the holiday programs, Kim discovered her passion to work directly with the families served by There With Care.
Prior to her role at There With Care, Kim volunteered at Foothill Elementary for the last 5 years. Kim joined the There With Care in August 2011 and is a treasured member of the team.
Beanie Brady, Volunteer Director
Beanie has a B.A. in Professional Writing and prior work and volunteer experience as a Victim’s Advocate, ESL Instructor, Substitute Teacher, and Technical Writer. Beanie has served There With Care in a volunteer capacity as the Chairperson of the Executive Team as well as the Grants Coordinator. Beanie joined the There With Care team as the Volunteer Director in September, 2008. She possesses incredible skills for detail and organization that serve her well in the position of Volunteer Director. Beanie is friendly and outgoing, making a new volunteer feel comfortable and welcome, while she also cautiously screens and trains them for the services. Beanie brings passion and knowledge of the organization through her volunteering and expresses that passion beautifully to new volunteers upon joining the
organization.
Shanna Lawless, Event Director
Shanna started as a volunteer five years ago supporting the Baby Essential Programs of There With Care. With an extensive background in Event Planning, Shanna seamlessly stepped into the role of Event Director. Over the years, Shanna has overseen the large Annual Fundraisers each year coordinating thousands of details to create the magical Harry Potter Pre-Release Screening and Party Events and throughout the rest of the year has put care and detail into the many year-round community events which create outreach and ongoing support. Bringing her incredible organization skills and passion for the organizations work, she is a loved and appreciated member of the There With Care family.
Cate Buck, Hospital Coordinator @ PSL
Cate graduated from St Vincent’s Hospital, Victoria, Australia in 1988, with a certificate in General Registered Nursing and Emergency Nursing, and a post graduate degree in Emergency Nursing. In 1994, she graduated from Mercy Hospital for Women as a Registered Midwife. She specialized in the care of sick babies in the Maximum Special Care Nursery and NICU. She also completed the Mental Health Course at Charles Sturt University in New South Wales.
Cate and her husband, Steve, have three children. In February of 2007 her youngest son, Thomas, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. He survived 20 months and Cate never left his side. Thomas passed away on 31st August 2008 at the age of four. Cate’s personal experience caring for Thomas and her kind soul, bring comfort and guidance for the families we serve and the staff at There With Care.
As the Hospital Coordinator, Cate manages the There With Care program space at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at P/SL and will manage the new program space at Brent’s Place coming in June. Cate serves as a liaison between There With Care and the hospitals served. There is always something that can be done to help a family in crisis and through her good instincts and experience, Cate has a gift at figuring out what might ease the way for a family to help identify their immediate needs. Cate also manages “Kids Club”, a new program at There With Care, where parents who have faced a loss can gather to remember and honor their children. We are proud to have Cate as part of the There With Care family and grateful for all she brings to the organization with her heart.
Robin Spitz, Program and Development Administration
Robin joined There With Care in 2008, first as a volunteer providing administrative support to the program staff. Robin provided hundreds of hours of volunteer service, and with her strong sense of care helped to build a trusted database which is used daily to track services and family needs as well as volunteer hours and donated items to the organization. In 2010, Robin joined the staff of There With Care and expanded her role to also manage gift processing. With the passion that Robin has for our work supporting families in crisis, Robin has worked to improve and create new processes that enable staff to draw information on a daily basis to better provide care directly to the families. This important work also assists the Executive Director with strategic planning, grant writing and donor reporting. Robin is a dear friend to all at There With Care and with her generous heart, adds meaning to the work we all do as a family of caregivers.
Nina Andaloro, Grants Director
Nina served as a volunteer grant writer for several years on behalf of There With Care where she helped craft solid grants filled with the spirit of our work in addition to the required information needed for each grant request. Nina began working two-years ago as a grant writer for the organization and in 2010 joined the staff working as the Grants Director. Nina approaches her work for There With Care by first identifying the needs of the organization and then reaching out to the community to best provide resources that are in-line with the various funders in the State of Colorado. Nina cares deeply about the work and it shows in her writing and in her relationship building. She has a talent for relaying the needs of the family and how we can work together with foundations to impact the lives of families facing a medical crisis. She has brought significant funding to the organization and through her grantwriting, makes an effort to ensure all needs are being addressed and supported with care. As a member of the staff, Nina was welcomed and embraced by all at There With Care.
Lora Covington, Development Coordinator
Lora has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Colorado. Her niece, who was once critically ill, was her inspiration to volunteer at There With Care. Lora began volunteering during the 2011 Harry Potter event, leading the decorating team. She joined the There With Care staff in fall of 2011. Lora brings her warmth and skills to her position and also shares her artistic talents throughout the organization.
Lora’s previous experience includes over 12 years of advertising experience with both the Daily Camera and the former Rocky Mountain News. She has worked as a consultant and designer in the scrapbook industry and also as a wedding coordinator. Lora is a native of Colorado and has two boys, 10 and 13.
Tim Ramenofsky, Program Delivery Assistant
Tim is a Grammy Nominated Producerwho found his true calling at There With Care. After a decade in Los Angeles running the T-Bone’s Records Label,Tim moved to Boulder to be closer to his two lovely nieces (Harper & Evan)and with his wife Piyanad, started her catering company.
Tim volunteered for the organization for many months before becoming the much needed Programs Assistant. His role of delivering program services often includes delivering parents and their children to chemo, bringing and assembling a crib, delivering groceries and diapers and more. Tim is there for so many families with needed services, always delivered with care.
